Abstract

The increasing prevalence of lifestyle-created disorders, such ‘as obesity, {diabetes, cardiovascular} diseases and cancer has become a significant global health concern. These disorders often arise due to sedentary lifestyles, poor dietary habits, and other lifestyle-related factors. Consequently, there is a pressing need for innovative approaches to manage and treat these conditions effectively. The phytosomal carrier-mediated approach presents a promising strategy for addressing lifestyle-created disorders. Natural plant extracts' bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy are improved using phytosomes, a modern drug delivery technology. These carriers consist of a phospholipid layer that encapsulates bioactive compounds derived from medicinal plants. This review explores the potential of phytosomal carriers in lifestyle-created disorders. The phospholipid layer of phytosomes facilitates improved absorption, prolonged circulation, and targeted delivery of bioactive compounds. Moreover, the use of natural plant extracts in phytosomes aligns with the growing demand for plant-based therapeutics with reduced adverse effects. Various studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of phytosomal formulations in managing lifestyle-created disorders. Enhanced absorption of bioactive compounds results in improved glycemic control, reduced lipid levels, and better cardiovascular health. Additionally, the targeted delivery of phytosomal carriers allows for reduced dosages, minimizing the risk of side effects and increasing patient compliance. Furthermore, the potential of phytosomal carriers in combination with lifestyle modifications, including diet and physical activity, offers a comprehensive approach to disease management. These carrier systems may act synergistically with lifestyle interventions, improving treatment outcomes and promoting sustainable health improvements.

In conclusion, the phytosomal carrier-mediated approach represents an innovative and promising avenue for managing lifestyle-created disorders. By harnessing the potential of natural plant extracts through advanced drug delivery systems, phytosomal carriers offer improved therapeutic outcomes, reduced side effects, and an integrative approach to combat the rising burden of lifestyle-related health conditions. Embracing this approach could pave the way for more effective and sustainable management of lifestyle-created disorders in the future.
