Abstract

The terms functional foods and nutraceuticals were created as a result of human inquisitiveness and the quest for particular components of plants, animals, minerals, and microorganisms that are good for our general health. Dr. Stephen L. Defelice defines nutraceuticals as any substance that may be considered as food or part of food which, in addition to its normal nutritive value, provides health benefits including prevention of diseases. Vegan and vegetarians should try to increase their B-12 intake as it is mainly found in milk band, meat which is not part of their diet. The standardisation of nutraceuticals is of many stages as Morphological or Organoleptic characters, Microscopical evaluation, Physical evaluation Chromatographic techniques, Foreign organic matter, Ash value, Moisture content, Extractive value. Proper growth of a child is based on balanced and adequate diet. This diet supplies sufficient nutrients and energy. Basic juvenile dietetic chart per day involves timely feed of breakfast, mid break, lunch, snack and dinner to the child. The biological aging of cells, nutritional inadequacies, hormonal imbalances that cause skin cell degeneration, tobacco, and other environmental and internal variables all contribute to the ongoing aging of skin.
